Preliminary

DELTA STATE OIL PRODUCING AREAS DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION (AMENDMENT) LAW, 2018

Section 1

1. Short Title and Commencement. This Law may be cited as the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (Amendment) Law, 2018 and shall come into force on the 23rd day of August, 2018.

Section 2

2. Interpretation. In this Law: "Principal Law" means the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission Law, 2015.

Section 3

3. Amendment of Section 5 of the Principal Law. The Principal Law is amended in Section 5 by deleting the word "Communities" and insert the word "Areas".

Section 4

4. Amendment of Section 7 of the Principal Law. The Principal Law is amended in Section 7 by inserting a new Sub-Section (2a) as follows: "(2a) Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 7(2), the Governor may through a request to the House of Assembly, extend the tenure of the Board for a period of not more than one year only."
